Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Principal Investigator to lead their Cultural Resources management division. The successful candidate will oversee and conduct archaeological investigations, historic preservation assessments, and cultural resources management projects. Responsibilities:
  • Lead cultural resources projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for project execution and team expansion.
  • Provide guidance, support, and opportunities for professional development to team members.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory agencies to facilitate project approvals, compliance, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure projects comply with relevant cultural resources laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Conduct archaeological surveys, site testing, and excavations following established protocols and industry standards.
  • Supervise field crews and provide technical expertise during fieldwork activities.
  • Prepare comprehensive and accurate cultural resources reports, including site documentation, analysis, and recommendations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients on cultural resources matters, delivering project updates, findings, and recommendations effectively.
  • Contribute to proposal development, including budget estimates and technical approaches, for cultural resources projects.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in developing and managing project budgets effectively.
  • Stay informed about advancements in cultural resources management, archaeology, and related fields.
  • Participate in relevant conferences, workshops, and training opportunities to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
  • Master's or Ph.D. in anthropology, archaeology, or a related field.
  • RPA (Register of Professional Archaeologists) certification.
  • Over 10 years of experience in cultural resources management, specializing in archaeological investigations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management, including budgeting and scheduling.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools for data analysis and report preparation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with the cultural resources regulatory environment in the region.
